Ongoing Experience -1

I am trying to become comfortable about what happened in my past, my thoughts and what is currently going on in my life. It is not a pleasant experience a lot of time. Most of the time, thoughts are trying to pull me back into things that took place in the past, in the fantasy I had put up in the future or sometimes, just mixing things together. It feels like re-living a horror dreams sometimes as it tends to paint everything in a bad manner. There are high and lows when you go through a heartbreak. One day you feel peaceful, another day you feel nothing, a blankness, there are lots of moment of loneliness, anger, feeling of unfairness, abandonment, emotions and thoughts all over the place. The idea is to embrace it all, and accept all of them without resisting them. We would want to go through all of them fast, but the way is through and not in a jump over, or a rush through. This does not mean for you to be lost in the feeling all the time. You should practice the art of noticing your feelings, thoughts and letting them go by themselves, as you return to your work after observing them or recognising them.

Learning from other's Experience

I have only recently started paying attention to learning from other's experience. Before this I used to rely solely on my experience and some unconsciously learned behaviour from others. This has both its pros and cons. Advantage is that you don't need to put the time to learn by doing the same mistakes but the con is you don't always know how to take someone's experience and mistakes and adapt them to your life. I am reading a book about self-discipline, and it has to suggest a lot of things which I am already following by myself. So it was easier for me to understand what he meant, even if he did not elaborate, I could get it. But for a person who does have the experience of struggles, and experiments in that domain, it might become confusing. One can therefore not straight-forward apply the self help books suggestions.
